Vincent de Paul (1581 – 1660)
“Mr Vincent only says ordinary things… but he raises them higher because of what he does and how he expresses them”.
His originality is in the Experience of the Love of God made up from daily realities, events and persons. He is certain that the service of the poor is “God’s affair”…
The Christ contemplated by St Vincent de Paul is the historical Christ, the One sent by the Father to save all people.
The Church makes present and continues the action of Christ. Thus she should adapt herself to Jesus’ way and clothe herself with his Spirit.
