Celebration of 50th years of religious life of sister Jeanine Couffin

Sister Jeanine and her Community

Sr. Jeanine Couffin celebrates her 50 years of religious life surrounded by her community and two other sisters: Sr. M. Thérèse Cuoq of St. Sigolène and Sr. Monique Monceau, of Retournac, our closest communities.

Sister Jeanine Couffin is celebrating her 50th anniversary of Religious Life surrounded by her community and two other sisters: Sister M. Thérèse Cuoq of Saint Sigolène and Sister Monique Monceau, of Retournac, our closest communities.

It was with the Christian community of the Carmelites, our parish relay, that we celebrated this important moment.

The celebrant introduced Sister Jeanine and her community, and associated the assembly with the thanksgiving that is a jubilee.

Today's Gospel in Matthew 25 sets the tone:

What you did to the least of mine, you did to me.

The Gospel is proclaimed by our recently ordained deacon followed by his 1st homily. The strong testimony of a member of the prison chaplaincy concretized today's gospel.

At the end of this celebration, an adult altar server who is very involved in the parish is appointed Acolyte. It is a great joy, this person being a carrier of trisomy 21, what a recognition from the church! the celebration ended with warm applause from a large and joyful assembly on this feast of Christ the King.

We were marked by the unity in the unfolding of this Eucharist.

After this strong moment, the priest shared with us, the fraternal feasts in a friendly and joyful atmosphere.

At the Vespers service, Sr. Jeanine renewed her vows in the chapel of the community, which was well flowered.

To renew one's commitment after 50 years is to renew oneself and to root oneself more deeply in Christ, with all his history and in today's reality.

You are the eternally faithful God.

Magnificat Hallelujah!
