Francis de Sales (1567 – 1622 )
Light on our path
Christ is not primarily a model to be imitated. He is the One in whom we are, like the “branch belongs to the tree” and
“the river belongs to the source”

The person of Christ continues in His Body which is the Church, the Church in which everyone can bear witness, is an actor in new reconciliation and in the re-creation of the whole person in God.
The most familiar activities - sorrows and daily work, the sick, the poor, prisoners, all those whom society rejects, our enemies and our friend -, all can be the place of encounter with God.
Francis de Sales speaks of the “ecstasy of life”, life which makes us forget ourselves and encounter God.
